Traffic Engineer (Transportation)
GPI is seeking a full-time Traffic Engineer for our growing Connecticut Operations. This position offers the opportunity to be a key member of our traffic team, involved in a wide range of public and private development projects both in-state and regionally. Our traffic team works to solve mobility issues through transportation solutions that benefit communities and the quality of life of those impacted by our infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities- Thorough understanding of current traffic engineering standards and practices
- Working knowledge of drafting, traffic analysis, and simulation programs (Synchro, Sim Traffic, HCS, AUTOCAD) is required
- Knowledge of VISSIM and SIDRA is a plus
- Good writing skills with the ability to prepare reports and memorandums
- Interest in learning and growing as a professional while mentoring younger staff to strengthen the team
- Attendance at industry events and networking
- BS in Civil Engineering required with a focus on Traffic/Transportation preferred
- 7+ years of traffic engineering experience preferred. All levels of experience will be considered
- PE is required (CT preferred), PTOE, and RSP are pluses
- Experience developing conceptual intersection/corridor options is a plus
- Interest and experience in working on complete streets projects is a plus
- Experience with urban design and current design practices for multi-modal accommodation is a plus
- Experience working on CTDOT projects is a plus
