Role Overview

The Tax Senior Analyst is a key member of the Richemont Americas tax team, responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of indirect tax reporting for the U.S. and Canada markets. This role involves a blend of compliance, analysis, and problem‑solving, working closely with the Tax Manager to research complex tax issues, manage use tax accruals, and provide support for customer inquiries.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of sales and use tax regulations, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly sales and use tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Thoroughly review monthly sales and use tax returns prepared by third‑party providers, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Manage the accurate and timely calculation and posting of use tax accruals on a monthly basis.
  • Review capital expenditure (capex) projects and calculate applicable use tax assessments, ensuring accurate tax treatment.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for responding to tax inquiries and requests from state and local tax agencies, providing clear and concise information.
  • Proactively research and interpret tax laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance and identify potential tax savings opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including accounting, finance, and operations, to gather necessary data and support tax‑related initiatives.
  • Assist with tax audits, preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Tax Manager.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • 6-10 years of progressive professional experience, with a strong focus on sales and use tax compliance. Prior experience within a tax or finance/accounting department is essential, with direct tax experience being highly preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. and Canadian sales and use tax laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is essential.
  • Experience with SAP and Avalara is highly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
