Job Description Summary
Monday-Friday 10:30 am - 7 pm
Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the compounding technician II works in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time in order to help ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations.
Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent)
Responsibilities- Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing
- Assists pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies & procedures, and in accordance with state regulations & standards.
- Prepares medications so they are accurately compounded.
- Performs basic pharmaceutical calculations in order to obtain correct dosages of medications.
- Assists with ensuring quality standards are met by reviewing and inspecting compounded & packaged medications.
- Ensures all compounding and packaging is inspected and approved by a licensed pharmacist.
- Site & Supplies/Equipment Maintenance
- Ensures pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
- Calibrates equipment to ensure accurate functioning.
- Assists with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature & cleaning logs.

Education and Experience- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state)
- Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Able to perform basic & intermediate level mathematical calculations.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Word (e.g., opening a document, editing, and formatting text).
- Basic level skill in Microsoft Excel (e.g., opening a workbook, formatting, and basic functions).
- Basic skill level in Microsoft PowerPoint (e.g., inserting, rearranging, editing slides).
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching.
- Ability to carry at least 30lbs.
Travel Requirements:
None
Previous healthcare or pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
May perform other duties as assigned.
CompensationDue to state pay transparency laws, the full range for the position is below:
Salary to be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
Pay Range is $24.80-$41.31
