Machine Operator

Machine Operators needed for Plastics Manufacturer in Shelton, CT!

Hours:

Rotating 12 hour shift schedule, 7pm-7am

Pay:

Starting at $20/hour (up to $24/hr based on experience!)

• Partners with leads, mechanics and other production employees to address production issues and implement solutions.
• Loads and unloads material rolls from machines, verifies and sets machine settings per the sheet settings in a safe manner.
• Performs general production activities to ensure efficient production of high‑quality product.
• Operates thermoforming, automation, and auxiliary equipment (i.e., case tapers, grinders, stackers).
• Inspects finished or in‑process products against company standards and specifications for irregularities or reject.
• Manages proper and timely starts/stops/restarts for machine, removes scrap and rewind.

• High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 6 months experience in a manufacturing environment or similar relevant experience.
• Qualify to operate various lift trucks used in production and in the warehouse.
• Critical thinking skills, problem resolution, strong decision‑making ability to self‑perform, and make decisions regarding the sequence of set‑ups, operations, and processes, including minor modification or pre‑programmed computer routines within limits of recognized standard methods and procedures.
• Strong proficiency in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Access), experience in data acquisition preferred.
• Read micrometers and calipers, digital force gauge, protractors, pressure gauges, temperature thermocouples.
