Job Description & How to Apply Below

As our Senior Land Use Specialist, you’ll manage five functional areas that help keep Green Diamond's 300,000+ acres of timberlands located in Washington state running smoothly. These areas are land use permits and agreements, recreational access, non-timber forest products, resource protection, and trespass/encroachment.

This role is both strategic and hands‑on. Some days you’ll be negotiating a land use agreement, and other days you’ll be evaluating a recreational access site, coordinating a cleanup, or working through a property boundary question. You’ll manage programs that generate revenue, protect company assets, and support safe and responsible public use while ensuring minimal impact to Green Diamond’s operations.

You’ll also serve as the primary contact for the public, partner agencies, adjacent landowners, and a broad range of permit tees. In everything you do, you’ll be representing Green Diamond’s commitment to responsible forest management, environmental stewardship, and safe working practices.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, negotiate, and administer land use agreements, leases, entry permits, and other contracts.
  • Engage with the public on access, permit, and land use inquiries.
  • Direct the full recreational access program, including permits, hunting leases, trail leases, and agency‑funded public access.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure the program supports - rather than interrupts - timber operations.
  • Administer programs for floral greens, mushrooms, boughs, specialty woods, and other forest products.
  • Develop new non‑timber product opportunities and alternative revenue sources.
  • Engage with a diverse community of harvesters, including many for whom English is a second language.
  • Oversee patrols, security, and protective measures across company ownership.
  • Serve as a liaison with law enforcement agencies on incidents occurring on company property.
  • Collaborate with internal and external counsel to resolve property encroachments.
