Shift Options:
Full Time (3 days/week, 12-hour shifts), 7p-7a
About Us
Located on a 19-acre campus, Medical Center South provides outpatient services and 24/7 emergency care to residents in fast-growing Bullitt County and the surrounding service area including: southern Jefferson, Spencer, Nelson, Meade, and Hardin counties. The facility includes a 48,000 square-foot medical center and a 25,000 square-foot medical office building. The medical center offers a full range of services including 24/7 emergency care, chest pain observation services, outpatient surgery, 3D mammography, and diagnostics/medical imaging.
The medical office building houses both primary care and specialty physician offices, and a UofL Health – Frazier Rehabilitation Institute outpatient rehab facility.

ResponsibilitiesJob Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Float Pool provides support to our emergency department units. Float pool staffing provides a crucial service for our customers, not only to ensure safe quality patient care, but provides support for our unit colleagues as well. You will be offered opportunities to expand your knowledge and maintain an expansive skill set with a variety of patients throughout the facility that will enable you to become a resource to others.
The area of focus
- Floating each shift to ED units at Medical Centers South, Southwest, & East, Shelbyville Hospital, Mary & Elizabeth Hospital, or Jewish Hospital
Required Qualifications
- Active Kentucky registered nurse license or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky
- Associate degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Minimum of two (2) years of critical care RN experience with a minimum of 1 of the 2 being in an emergency department
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
