About the CompanyShepherdsville Aquatic Center is a premier sport, recreation and entertainment destination focused on improving the health and economic vitality of Shepherdsville, KY. The center will have an indoor competition pool for swim lessons, aquatic programming, and a home for local swim teams. It will also feature indoor pickleball courts and an outdoor water park with water slides and a lazy river.

PositionSummary
The Aquatics Coordinator will be responsible for the operational, programming, and lifeguard supervision responsibilities for all aquatics areas.
Primary Responsibilities- Coordinate all responsibilities related to aquatics programming including swim lessons and other programs
- Assist with booking and executing birthday parties and private parties/events
- Assist with lifeguard team member performance evaluations
- Develop surveys and methods of distribution for evaluations of programs and services
- Coordinate requests for equipment usage and facility space with the General Manager
- Assist with scheduling and supervising lifeguards
- Conduct meetings with lifeguards and participants (e.g., in‑service training and Learn to Swim program)
- Assist with daily cleaning and maintenance of all pool areas
- Provide excellent customer service to guests and members on a daily basis
- Complete other duties as assigned by leadership and General Manager
- Current American Red Cross certification in Lifeguard Training, Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Instructor, CPR‑PR and First Aid Instructor, or equivalent (preferred)
- 2‑4 years of supervision experience in an aquatics center
- Current Certified Pool Operator certification (training and certification will be provided for a candidate without it)
- Experience and success in delivering excellent customer service
- Action‑oriented personality with a “get it done” attitude and proficiency for efficiency
- The ability to thrive in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail‑oriented and possess outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and be decisive
- Strong swimmer
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist‑high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend
- Will be exposed to outside temperatures
- Could be exposed to cleaning chemicals
