Role Overview
We are seeking to appoint a hard‑working and dedicated teaching assistant to work at Fosse Way School – a school for children aged 4‑19 who have Education, Health and Care plans – and/or at The Mendip School and The Mendip School Base at Ansford Academy – schools for children aged 4‑19 with Autism and Speech Language and Communication Needs.
ResponsibilitiesAs a teaching assistant, the role is varied, including general classroom support and 1:1 support with individual children. The post holder’s responsibilities include:
- Meeting pupils’ emotional, social and physical needs.
- Liaising with teaching staff in the development and delivery of a differentiated curriculum.
- Confident, resilient and possessing excellent communication skills.
- Previous experience in a special school is an advantage, though training will be provided.
- Applicants from specialist or mainstream settings are encouraged.
The position offers excellent training for those without special school experience and provides an opportunity for colleagues looking for a new challenge. The partnership trusts the professional development of all staff and volunteers.
