1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant / Home Tutor – Make a Real Difference

Hours: 21.5 hours per week

Salary: £100 to £117 per day

Contract: September 2026 to July 2027

About the Role

Connex Education is recruiting on behalf St Aldhelm's Church School for a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Home Tutor / Teaching Assistant to support a child with neurodiverse needs both at home and within the school environment.

This rewarding role focuses on delivering personalised learning, building confidence and supporting the child's successful reintegration into school. You will primarily work within a KS2 setting while delivering aspects of a KS1 curriculum tailored to the child's individual learning needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is patient, creative and passionate about making a meaningful difference to a child's educational journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality 1:1 educational support both at the child's home and at St Aldhelm's Church School.
  • Deliver engaging learning activities tailored to the child's strengths, needs and interests.
  • Support the child's gradual reintegration into the classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships with the child, their family and the wider school team.
  • Adapt learning approaches to meet neurodiverse needs.
  • Monitor progress and communicate effectively with school staff.
About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children with neurodiverse needs (desirable).
  • Can support learning within KS2 while delivering elements of a KS1 curriculum.
  • Builds positive and trusting relationships with children and adults.
  • Is creative, flexible and able to adapt learning to suit individual interests.
  • Is willing to travel between the child's home and school (lives locally).
  • Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to their own vehicle, as travel between locations is essential.
