We are working in partnership with a leading manufacturer based in Sherborne, Dorset, to recruit a Management Accountant with strong manufacturing and cost accounting experience.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking organisation where you will play a key role in driving financial accuracy and supporting operational performance. The role offers a competitive salary of up to £55,000, a day shift pattern, and 1 day per week hybrid working.
The RoleAs Management Accountant, you will support the manufacturing function through detailed cost control, reporting, and financial analysis. You will act as a key link between finance and production, ensuring accurate product costing and meaningful performance insights.
- Supporting manufacturing-specific processes including product cost planning, standard cost estimates, and WIP calculations
- Monitoring and managing production orders and volumes to ensure financial accuracy
- Calculating and maintaining product standard costs
- Performing detailed cost accounting, including activity allocation, overhead calculation, variance settlement, and periodic reporting
- Calculating and updating work activity rates for cost allocation
- Analysing production costs, identifying variances, and delivering clear, actionable reports
- Ensuring correct classification of CAPEX and OPEX in production-related transactions
- Managing Bills of Materials (BOM) and routing control to validate accurate cost calculations
- Supporting SAP month-end and year-end close processes
- Analysing cost trends and profitability, tracking actual vs budget and forecast, highlighting deviations, and supporting management reporting
- Degree in Finance or Accounting, or professionally qualified/part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, AAT)
- Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing cost accounting, product costing, and production order tracking
- Strong financial and variance analysis skills
- SAP experience desirable (full training provided)
- Confident working cross-functionally with production and operations teams
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical capability
- Salary up to £55,000
