In-home caregiver – private home – ChWi… family

Terms of employment:
This job is for a full-time position (between 30 and 40 hours per week). Flexible / Split shift work schedule is required. Weekend work may be required. Job starts as soon as possible.

Language requirement:
French or English.

Salary:
Wage offered is between $17 and $19 per hour. Future wage adjustments will be made when the First Quartile wage rate change for this field of work in Quebec.

Location:

ChWi lives in the town of Sherbrooke, Quebec. Sherbrooke is a rural town situated approx. 160 km from Montreal, Quebec. The home is situated in a residential neighbourhood, school and parks are nearby. The city bus and the metro are easily accessible and is close by. The major intersection is rue Chalifoux and 10e avenue.

• Help with the care of two children aged 4 years old and 2 years old.
• Supervise children when parents are not at home and take them to and from appointments.
• Organize and participate in activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings to provide amusement and exercise.
• Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents.
• Prepare and cook meals for children as well as assist in feeding them.
• Bathe children and change diapers of the youngest as needed.
• Perform general housework that will include doing laundry and some ironing.
• Dust rooms to ensure a clean environment.

• Must have completed at minimum Canadian equivalent of secondary school education.
• Must have at least one year of work-related experience as a caregiver.
• Must be dependable, hardworking, independent, and able to manage the job without supervision.
• Work experience with newborn and infants is an asset.
