Position: Sexual Violence Education Advisor (Program)
## Sexual Violence Education Advisor (Program)
* Develop and recommend updates to existing SGBV educational modules and development of future modules in accordance with identified needs and priorities.
* Evaluates progress and results of online modules through the retrieval and assessment of system reports.
* Develop SGBV educational modules, including communications, assessment, and IT tasks.
* Oversee updates and developments of SGBV workshops for students, staff, and Faculty in accordance with identified needs and priorities.
* Collaborate with student groups, Faculties and administrative units to develop and increase accessibility of programs and resources to educate the community on the prevention of and response to SGBV and building a culture of consent and respect.
* Deliver workshops to increase awareness and skills of McGill community members in noticing, intervening, and responding to disclosures of SGBV.
* Provide guidance and input into local projects that aim to promote and enhance cultures of consent and respect.
* Lead consultations with key stakeholders to discern needs and priorities for SGBV educational and awareness-raising programming.
* Provide professional support to students, staff, and faculty in relation to completion of mandatory SGBV modules.
* Remain current on emerging issues, research, best practices, and evidence-informed SGBV prevention and response, particularly in relation to university contexts.
* Represent OSVRSE on relevant internal and external committees.
* Track workshop and training delivery and participation to provide data for annual reports to McGill Senate and the provincial government.
* Assist in gathering feedback to inform recommendations and revisions to education and awareness-raising content on a yearly basis.
* Identify emerging needs and update the Associate Director as needed.
* Act as back-up to the role of Education Advisor (Outreach).
* Assist with the management of the Peer Educator team, including student staff and volunteers, and the supervision of interns as pertinent.
* Write communication material and attend events of OSVRSE as required.
* Perform other duties in support of the unit.
* Bachelor degree in Education, Social Work, Human Relations, Communications or related field with at least 3 years of related experience. Experience working in a university context considered an asset.
* Significant project management experience.
* Strong research and analysis skills, with specific skills in collecting quantitative data from multiple sources, compiling, and presenting results.
* Sensitivity in dealing with matters subject to confidentiality and privacy considerations.
* Demonstrated ability to develop complex and sensitive materials targeted to multiple audiences and deliver presentations.
* Experience developing communication material adapted to different populations and platforms.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal sensitively with individuals and groups.
* Demonstrated ability to build and maintain constructive and effective relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external.
* Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and effectively handle changing priorities.
* Ability to share information in a collaborative and effective manner.
* Must be self-motivated, empathetic, approachable and self-directed with a demonstrated ability to take responsibility and deliver results with minimal direction and oversight.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively with people from different functional areas and levels.
* Demonstrated planning, administrative, and organizational skills with an ability to prioritize tasks.
* Understanding of systemic issues, current trends, and best practices related to SGBV prevention and response education an asset. Specific understanding of equity, diversity and inclusion principles with a particular sensitivity towards 2S&LGBTQIA+ issues, anti-racism and/or indigenization an asset.
* Familiarity with current research and best practices in anti-oppressive SGBV prevention in a university-context an asset.
