The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing technical tasks related to the organization and operation of the high school library.
Description of tasks Specific to the role at Alexander Galt Regional High SchoolThe AGRHS library is much more than a place for books — it is a vibrant, welcoming hub that supports learning, wellness, creativity, and student success.
We are seeking a dynamic documentation technician who is passionate about literacy, student engagement, and collaborative learning.
In this role, you will :
- Curate and manage diverse library resources
- Create and promote an inclusive environment where students feel inspired, supported, and encouraged to explore new ideas and interests
- Maintain and enrich the “bistro” within the library
- Offer regular enrichment activities that promote diversity and awareness
- Work closely with teachers and school staff to help integrate library resources into learning experiences, promote research and information literacy skills, and contribute to initiatives that foster student well‑being, curiosity, and perseverance
- Manage and organize the school library, including cataloging, classification, and maintenance of materials
- Assist teachers and students with information research and the use of documentary resources
- Develop and maintain educational tools and resources to promote literacy and research skills
- Organize and prepare various activities for students promoting wellness, growth, school perseverance, and a vibrant school life

Desired profile SchoolingHold a Diploma of College Studies in Information and Library Technologies, or a diploma or attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
