Annapolis Valley Autism Teacher Specialist

Shape the future of education as an Autism Teacher Specialist at the Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education starting August 1, 2026. This term position requires a focus on professional development and program leadership for students with autism.

In this 0.49 FTE role, you will assess educational needs and implement effective support strategies for children and youth with autism spectrum disorder. The Specialist will partner with various educational agencies, providing insights and resources necessary for enhancing instruction and support. Your responsibilities include monitoring service delivery and ensuring comprehensive development of individualized education plans.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead in the implementation of autism-related services

• Conduct needs assessments for students with autism

Requirements:

• Requires a valid Nova Scotia Teaching License

• Must have a minimum of five years teaching experience
