Learning Support Teacher - St Mary's Academy

Enhance educational experiences as a Learning Support Teacher at St Mary's Education Centre Academy. This role emphasizes co-teaching and programming support for students with diverse needs for the  academic year.

At the Strait Regional Centre for Education, we're looking for a dedicated Learning Support Teacher to join our team. This position requires strong management skills to coordinate Individual Program Plans (IPPs) for high-needs students while collaborating with classroom teachers.

Your role will also include intensive teaching interventions and the development of inclusive strategies to foster student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Co-ordinate IPPs for a caseload of high-needs students

• Provide programming support through co-teaching and mentoring

• Conduct direct teaching interventions based on identified needs

• Liaise with classroom teachers for integrated support

• Assess and report individual student progress

Requirements:

• Valid teacher certification for Nova Scotia

• Graduate level program in inclusive education completed

• Strong classroom and student management skills

• Familiar with assistive technologies for learning

• Experience in inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
