Teaching Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor, M.A. and/or Ph.D. degree in relevant field
  • Teaching experience at University level is preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of policy transparency and policy transparency challenges Experience
  • Strong background in public policy, policy analysis, politics, analytics, or economics is required
  • Minimum of five years of applied/industry-related experience complemented by academic research in relevant field is essential
  • Proven experience in the design, analysis and implementation of policies within government or industry settings, with a clear understanding of complexities inherent in the policy making process
  • Demonstrable experience in persuasive communication - both written and verbal - and its influence on the policy making process is preferred
Course Description

Master in Public Policy (MPP) Complexity Seminars are two-credit intensive courses delivered over one week (six hours per day) during the Fall, Winter, and/or Summer terms. Each seminar focuses on a specific dimension of complexity within the policy making process. These courses are designed to explore a particular type of complexity as it manifests across a range of policy issues, including but not limited to transparency challenges in public finance, central banking, trade, income inequality, climate change, and access to information legislation.

Practitioners leading these seminars should have expertise that closely aligns with the seminar’s thematic focus.
