Support early childhood learning as a Teacher Aide in Westbury, NY, using communication skills within a licensed, language-enriched program.
This full-time Teacher Aide assignment serves the Westbury Post Avenue location. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with five additional aftercare hours weekly. The program follows New York State Learning Standards and an educational, play-based curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee developmental activities in the assigned daycare classroom
- Manage the classroom environment throughout scheduled programming
- Oversee assigned assistant group leaders
- Communicate promptly and appropriately with assigned children’s families
- Increase professional knowledge relevant to enrolled children
- High school diploma or GED and related experience
- Twelve college credits in Early Childhood and CDA, or AS degree
- Excellent communication skills
- State Central Registry, criminal background, and fingerprint clearance
- Obtain NYS Teacher Assistant Certification within six months
