Alamos Gold Inc. Young-Davidson is recruiting the following challenging position to join our Operations team: 2026 Engineering Department Summer Students.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with daily engineering tasks, including underground field data collection (e.g., surveying, ventilation, ground support inspections)
  • Update and maintain engineering drawings, plans, and databases
  • Support short-term and long-term mine planning activities
  • Monitor development and production progress
  • Assist engineers with technical analyses and design work
  • Conduct underground observations to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and documentation for projects and engineering studies
  • Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and follow all site safety protocols
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, geology, and mine operations
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a University or College program in Engineering (Mining, Geological, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related discipline)
  • Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working in underground environments (training provided)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with engineering or mining software (e.g., Deswik, AutoCAD, Leapfrog, Amine, Ventsim)
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
Work Schedule
  • Rotating shift schedule, 7 days on, 7 days off, 11 hours per day, depending on department requirements
  • Underground or surface work may be required
  • Must have own transportation to and from the mine; some accommodations can be made on a case-by-case basis
  • All required training and PPE provided

The company reserves the right to determine final selection and number of summer students hired. If there are more applicants than positions, selection will be based on site experience, good standing with grades, and preference for students pursuing or enrolled in a mining-related course.

To be eligible to apply, a student must be a minimum of 16 years of age for surface work and 18 years of age for underground work.
