Job Summary and Main ResponsibilitiesThe Engineering Coordinator plays a central role within the engineering team. They perform structural and strength calculations, design custom products, and support the drafting team in producing approval and manufacturing drawings. They also contribute directly to planning the team’s workload and collaborate closely with production to optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and quality. The role is also actively involved in improvement and innovation projects.
Key responsibilities include:
- Perform strength calculations and design custom products tailored to customer needs.
- Supervise the execution of approval drawings for the products they design, and sign and seal the drawings as a professional engineer.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of special or new products while meeting cost, schedule, and project requirements.
- Support the management of engineering team improvements and lead weekly team meetings.
- Participate in prototype development and innovation initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement of methods and products across the company.
- Assist in implementing the Engineering Manager’s directives (DMS, skills matrix, Lean tools) in collaboration with the engineering supervisor.
- Supervise the engineering designer.
- Foster a positive and respectful team environment through constant communication and strong collaboration with other departments.

- Licensed engineer and member of the OIQ.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong expertise in strength of materials calculations (essential).
- Excellent command of English and French (spoken and written).
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of Solid Works.
- Experience in mechanical design.
- VBA skills (an asset).
