Overview
Trauma Intervention Specialist (Sherbrooke) role at TELUS Health. Join our Critical Incident Support team to provide expert, on-site counselling and consultation following traumatic events in workplaces, schools, or community settings. Independent contractor role focused on immediate support, stabilizing individuals and groups, and building long-term resilience.
Responsibilities- Respond promptly to requests for on-site critical incident intervention services.
- Provide comprehensive crisis management and post-traumatic interventions, including individual and group crisis interventions, debriefings, and corporate client consultations.
- Perform a preliminary assessment of the workplace situation and offer coaching and support to managers.
- Manage the first impression on-site while adapting to the workplace culture to ensure the support provided is clinically appropriate and representative of the client group.
- Consult with the CI Supervisor and relevant stakeholders as needed.
- Master’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Active membership with a professional college or relevant governing board.
- Minimum five (5) years of post-master’s clinical experience.
- Completion of Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) training or equivalent.
- Professional Liability Insurance coverage.
- Experience in conducting group debriefing and defusing support.
- Strong interpersonal awareness and exceptional first impression skills.
- Knowledge of different work environments and organizational structures with experience in workplace crisis management.
- Flexible schedule, with the ability to accept referrals with minimal notice.
- Understanding of trauma, its symptoms, and the ability to offer psychoeducation and address related questions.
- Ability to facilitate both group and one-on-one interactions.
- Experience in supporting first responders.
- Flexibility and accessibility, with the ability to periodically respond to requests during weekdays and weekends.
