Responsibilities- Supervise the production staff in the filling and packaging lines at the Sherbrooke plant.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, policies and directives, and maintain good relations with the union.
- Guarantee that finished products are packaged and that raw materials are received within required deadlines.
- Develop projects for continuous improvement to achieve efficiency and cost control objectives.
- Collaborate with other departments for activity planning that impacts production scheduling.
- Guarantee the daily production program is executed optimally, ensuring required staff presence.
- Manage the monthly inventory and ensure availability of necessary materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and facilities, and meet quality and productivity targets.
- Apply collective agreement provisions, uphold best manufacturing practices (BPF/GMP), and maintain safe working conditions through OPex principles.
- Support the occupational health and safety program and promote a safe work environment.
- Identify training needs, analyze operations, recommend and implement improvements, and take corrective actions to minimize waste and errors.
- Participate in budgeting processes, respect departmental budgets, and anticipate future labor needs, including weekly labor requirements, staff turnover and recruitment.
- Ensure adherence to plant programs (HACCP, BRC, Food Defense, OPex) and perform any additional related tasks mentioned.
- Diploma in food technology, operations management, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience in a unionized industrial environment or maintenance setting.
- Ability to work under pressure, flexible availability for overtime or shift changes, and capability to handle emergency situations.
- Bilingualism is an advantage; excellent written and oral communication skills in French.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of HACCP, Labour Code, and experience in labor relations.
- Demonstrated leadership, decision‑making, ability to coach, mobilize and manage personnel effectively.
- Judgment, prioritisation, diplomacy, strong analytical and organisational skills, resourcefulness, and a focus on continuous improvement.
