OpenStack Developer​/Architect

About this position

You’ll join ELITS Canada’s R&D organization, where agile, cross-functional teams drive innovation and take full ownership of their focus areas—whether it’s IaaS, PaaS, AI & Data, or Cloud Integration. • Design, implement, and maintain features in Open Stack core projects (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Glance, Trove, Ironic, Freezer, Keystone, Magnum, Heat, Octavia).

• Support architecture and platform decisions, ensuring alignment with our Cloud strategy.
• Participate in code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and deployment

• Collaborate with squads and Platform Ops to ensure stable, production‑ready Open Stack services
  .
• Contribute to upstream Open Stack projects
  , submitting patches, fixes, and documentation.
• Support migration, upgrades, and integration work between Open Stack and other platform components
  .
• Document solutions, processes, and architecture decisions for internal and organizational use.

• Strong hands‑on experience in Python development (3+ years preferred).
  
  • Solid understanding of Linux systems and cloud infrastructure.
  
  • Proven experience with Open Stack deployment, operation, or development.
  
  • Knowledge of CI/CD
  , automation tools (Ansible, Terraform), and containerization (Kubernetes).
  
  • Willingness to contribute upstream and collaborate actively with the Open Stack community.
  
  • Fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written).

• Experience with Open Stack networking (
  Neutron/OVN
  ), compute (
  Nova
  ), storage (
  Cinder
  , Ceph
  ), or database services (
  Trove
  ).
  
  • Familiarity with bare‑metal provisioning (
  Ironic
  ) or high‑availability projects (
  Masakari
  ).
  
  • Prior participation in open‑source projects or upstream contributions.
  
  • Knowledge of cloud observability, telemetry, or security integration.

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field—or equivalent experience and training.
• Relevant Open Stack or cloud certifications are an asset.
