Senior Engineer
- Guidewire Claim Center (Contract)

Number of positions: 1, 6-month initial contract with potential extension

Location:

anywhere in Canada, if close to an office of the client, 2 days/week onsite

• Lead the design and development of complex application features, acting as the technical lead for medium-to-large initiatives.
• Collaborate with solution analysts and business stakeholders to produce technical designs that align with enterprise standards.
• Manage the software development process from user story decomposition and requirement review through to final delivery.
• Conduct peer code and design reviews, providing coaching to junior team members to maintain high-quality coding standards.
• Develop and configure software within existing enterprise platforms, managing dependencies across integrated systems and data.
• Ensure robust delivery through the creation and execution of automated tests and the enhancement of existing testing frameworks.

• At least 5 years of hands‑on experience in Guidewire application development specifically on the Guidewire platform, with a focus on Claim Center.
• Experience with Guidewire Cloud is highly preferred; being Guidewire Certified (Associate or ACE) is a significant asset.
• Strong skills in GOSU, web services, and database management.
• Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Team City, Jira, and Confluence is an asset.
• Previous experience within the Insurance industry is a major plus.
• Proven ability to foster teamwork, excellent analytical problem‑solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Software Development or a related field.
