Job Overview
The Warehouse Operator plays a key role in executing assigned warehouse tasks. This includes ensuring proper movement of materials to designated locations through Computer Warehouse system, updating inventories as needed, coordinating material needs throughout the facility using material handling equipment (Forklift, Hi-Lo reach truck, Stand on pallet jack, etc.). The Warehouse Inventory Operator will also be responsible for receiving and shipping materials in through the Computer Warehouse system, End of Month inventories, requesting materials as needed from the Dry Storage Warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
Aids and support to all areas in the production facility as assigned by supervisor/lead and begins to train and build competence on key areas in warehousing such as material handling equipment (Forklift, Hi-Lo reach truck, Stand on pallet jack, etc.), and Computer Warehouse system.
Unload material as it arrives to the facility and verify item, quantity, and receive in the computer warehouse system creating a load r. Scan newly created pallet label and move item to proper location.
Pick customer tickets in correct sequence. Pull orders using correct code dates and procedures including proper use of the warehouse management systems.
Keep product rotated by date and code for quality purposes. Identify products by labels and date codes and stage for loading as needed.
Ensure accurate record keeping and document control of associated documents to the Warehouse Inventory Operator
Must have reliable transportation to travel to the Syracuse Cold Storage (SCS) facility for a minimum of two weeks of training or participate in an approved carpooling arrangement.
Must be flexible regarding training schedules and shift assignments during the onboarding period. Training opportunities are available across multiple shifts.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of warehouse processes, operational expectations, and job responsibilities within a newly established warehouse environment.
Work effectively in both ambient and refrigerated (cooler) warehouse settings while adhering to all safety and quality standards.
Assist with warehouse startup activities, including organization, inventory flow setup, sanitation efforts, and preparation of operational work spaces.
Support warehouse operations by assisting with product rework, leaker management, and other general warehouse needs as business demands require.
Embrace a continuous improvement mindset and understand that the facility is in a startup phase where processes, systems, and workflows will continue to evolve and improve over time.
Utilize warehouse management and inventory systems while performing basic clerical and administrative tasks related to inventory tracking and record accuracy.
Safely operate material handling equipment (MHE), including electric pallet jacks, sit-down forklifts, and other powered industrial vehicles in accordance with company safety policies.
