WhatYou’ll Do
Oversee all accounting functions including project cost tracking, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings; prepare accurate and timely financial reports for leadership and project managers. Partner with engineers and project managers to ensure accurate budgeting, forecasting, and job cost analysis for multiple ongoing projects. Develop and maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and industry regulations.
Prepare financial models, cash flow projections, and variance analyses to guide leadership decisions. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff – fostering collaboration between finance and project operations. Coordinate audits and work with external financial institutions, tax advisors, and auditors. Identify opportunities to streamline processes and integrate technology for more efficient reporting and analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA strongly preferred). 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably within engineering, construction, or professional services industries. Experience with project-based accounting, job cost management, and revenue recognition. Proficiency in accounting software such as Deltek Vision, Quick Books, or Sage Intacct, and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and communicate insights clearly.
