SUMMARY DESCRIPTION

The Cerakote Lead supervises daily operations of the Cerakote Department. This role oversees employees, equipment, and processes to ensure coating work meets Weatherby quality standards. Responsibilities include scheduling, training, inspections, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. The Lead ensures KPIs in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost are consistently met while balancing craftsmanship with efficiency.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Oversee Cerakote operations for rifles, shotguns, and custom products.
  • Monitor and schedule maintenance of Cerakote robots and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot issues with parts, processes, or equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain stock of critical parts and supplies.
  • Process and monitor work orders in MES, ensuring accuracy of color codes and descriptions.
  • Supervise final inspection of coated products and provide remedial training when needed.
  • Ensure surface preparation is complete and documented for each part.
  • Train and coach employees in coating application, quality standards, and efficiency.
  • Maintain records using Microsoft Office and ERP/MES systems.
  • Perform advanced spraying, two-tone applications, and other technical finishes as needed.
  • Promote a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Support lean systems, continuous improvement projects, and KPI ownership (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost).
