Job SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the delivery of safe and effective patient‑centered care in a variety of settings based on education, knowledge, skill set, and competency. The RN communicates with physicians/ managers/co‑workers, as appropriate, about changes in the patient’s clinical condition, including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology, determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, and responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
Additionally, the RN performs general nursing duties in the departments with adequate supervision and participates in performance improvement activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provides direct and indirect patient care in the medical‑surgical setting, communicating with physicians and co‑workers about changes in the patient’s clinical condition.
- Evaluates patients to identify those at risk for falls and implements the appropriate protocols.
- Applies the nursing process—assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation—for disease entities including COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, anticoagulation therapy, total knee/hip replacement, cholecystectomy, CHF, UTI, MRSA infections, detox, cancer, and pain management.
- Participates in the department’s performance improvement activities.
- Demonstrates knowledge of restraint and seclusion standards, including protocol, physician orders, documentation, reporting, and patient rights.
- Knowledgeable of Infection Control, TB, blood‑borne pathogens, and hazardous waste plans.

- Current unrestricted Wyoming Registered Nurse Licensure or unrestricted compact nurse license.
- Nursing degree required.
- BLS required.
