Position Summary:
Works as part of a multidisciplinary Coordinated Specialty Care team to help young individuals experiencing early psychosis achieve their academic and career goals. Provides personalized vocational assistance, case management, and skills training to help individuals secure mainstream education or competitive, integrated employment as outlined in the Texas Administrative Code and current state guidelines for individuals with a mental illness. This role heavily involves community outreach to build relationships with local employers and schools, and includes advocacy, crisis services, individual and group skills training, and other tasks as assigned by leadership in accordance with the philosophy, goals, and objectives of Texoma Community Center.
Operates under trauma-informed and recovery-oriented models of care which align with CCBHC standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or Counseling required
- Licensed as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (Can be obtained during training period)
- Master’s level intern with two (2) years Human Services experience preferred
- Experience working with individuals with mental illness and/ or addiction issues desirable
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations:
- Current driver’s license and a vehicle for use at work
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred
- Must be self-motivated, organized and detail oriented
- Knowledge of Office Suite
- Consistently practices Trauma-informed Model of Care, understands and considers the pervasive nature of trauma.
- The knowledge of cultural differences and ability to work with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to population served preferred
