Location:

Sherman, TX We are seeking an experienced and dependable Purchasing Agent to join a busy foundry and manufacturing operation. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for sourcing materials, placing purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, communicating with vendors, and ensuring the facility has the supplies and materials needed to keep production running efficiently.

• Purchase raw materials, production supplies, tooling, equipment, and other materials needed for daily operations.
• Obtain pricing and quotes from vendors and compare costs, quality, and delivery times.
• Create and maintain purchase orders and purchasing records.
• Monitor inventory levels and reorder materials as needed.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, warehouse, and management teams to determine material requirements.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Track orders from placement through delivery and follow up on delayed or missing shipments.
• Verify quantities, pricing, and specifications on purchase orders and invoices.
• Assist with negotiating pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Identify potential supply issues and work proactively to prevent production delays.
• Research new vendors and identify opportunities to reduce purchasing costs.
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory documentation.
• Ensure materials meet company specifications and quality requirements.
• Assist with resolving vendor issues, shortages, damaged materials, and incorrect shipments.
• Follow company purchasing procedures and safety requirements.

• Previous purchasing or procurement experience required.
• Manufacturing, foundry, industrial, or heavy equipment experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple purchase orders and deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
• Experience with ERP or purchasing software preferred.
• Ability to read and understand product specifications and technical information.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.
