Maintenance Technician – 2nd Shift
Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd Shift, hours 2 pm to 10:30 pm. The hourly rate is $30.78–$40.30, plus a shift differential of $1.20 per hour. Salary figures are general guidelines; actual compensation depends on skill, experience and market factors.
What You’ll Do- Drive improvements in Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Inventory (SQDCI).
- Work closely with team members and the lead to resolve issues and follow up on preventative and corrective actions.
- Assist employees with technical issues and facilitate continuous improvement activities.
- Ensure that equipment and tools are adequately maintained and safely operated.
- Install equipment/machinery, perform preventive and predictive maintenance on plant equipment, and troubleshoot and repair problems.
- Operate a variety of lifts and related equipment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX; relocation benefit not offered.
- Advanced skills in Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, Refrigeration, PLC troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience in lean manufacturing.
- ABB robotic weld cell troubleshooting and programming experience.
- Associate degree from an accredited institution.
- Experience in metals fabrication.
- Working knowledge of equipment operations, tooling (e.g., lasers, powder coat, turret presses, dies, presses).
- Computer literate with Windows and MS Office and industrial software.
- Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical schematics.
- Experience with wastewater treatment.
- Experience modifying or programming PLCs and HMIs.
- Cover critical tasks during staffing shortages.
- Strong technical background and ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and parts breakdown.
- Basic proficiency in reading, arithmetic and writing in English.
- Dexterity needed for operating equipment, machinery, and computers.
- Ability to work in various locations, including heights.
- Understanding of basic mechanical fundamentals and shop machine tools.
- Familiarity with DC and AC power up to three-phase 480 V AC.
- Capability to weld, pipe fitting, and rigging.
- Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
- Effective communication in interpersonal situations and before groups.
- Compliance with all safety requirements.
- Support maintenance record keeping and metric reporting.
- Will work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and up to 12 hours per shift, as needed.
- Stand for the duration of the shift and perform repetitive tasks.
