Eaton’s ES GEIS BLD division is currently seeking a Cable Tray Welder- 2nd Shift at our location in Sherman, TX. The core hours are 2:00pm – 10:00pm. The rate for this position is $21.94/hour + $1.20/hour shift differential per hour. Salaries are based on candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What You’ll Do- Operate production equipment specifically for the welding and fabrication of products.
- Set up, understand and proficiently operate all welding equipment.
- Troubleshoot various machine problems.
- Identify and tag shop orders with the product. Retrieve/enter data into the system.
- Ensure quality and proper documentation on all parts.
- Maintain components and supplies as required to operate efficiently.
- Weld components based on print specifications.
- Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.
- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution.
- Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

- Minimum of one-year MIG/TIG welding.
- AWS Weld Certified.
- Minimum of one (1) year utilizing blueprints (AWS weld symbols) and using simple measuring tools.
- Basic computer skills.
- Solid math, communication, analytical, and reasoning skills.
- Working knowledge of weld operations, including MIG, TIG of stainless steel and/or aluminum.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs occasionally to frequently (33-66%) and up to 75 lbs. occasionally by stooping, reaching, and bending with or without accommodation.
- Ability to stand for eight hours plus while performing repetitious tasks with or without accommodation.
- Ability to read blueprints and use simple measuring tools.
- Ability to follow directions, work independently, and pay close attention to details.
- Work as part of a team having responsibility for assembling an entire product or component of a product.
- Ability to reach, grasp and manipulate.
- Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays, as required by business need.
- Requires PPE to include safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, leather gloves, and hearing protection (as required in high-noise areas).
- Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil, and sparks.
