Substitute Teacher – 2025-26

Elk Island Public Schools (EIPS) is one of the largest school divisions in Alberta, serving approximately 17,750 students in 43 schools. We provide staff and students with dynamic programming, current resources, and professional learning opportunities to help them succeed.

EIPS employs about 875 full‑time equivalent teaching staff and 560 full‑time equivalent non‑teaching staff. We are recruiting multiple Substitute Teacher positions for the  school year. The role is open to internal and external candidates.

• Bachelor of Education
• Must be eligible for an Alberta Teaching Certificate
• Effective organization and classroom management skills
• Ability to create a safe, supported, and challenging classroom environment
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using it to inform instruction
• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
• Growth mindset and willingness to use feedback to improve practice
