Oxford Learning Sherwood Park has an opening for an upbeat, passionate, committed, enthusiastic, and dynamic French teacher who seeks work in a rewarding teaching environment. Our French Programs offer individual support to students looking to improve their academic skills and study habits.

Candidates must possess a strong passion for seeing students succeed and must be comfortable teaching students ranging in age from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in French. Tutor‑teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson‑plan before class, as all lessons are pre‑planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.

• All Teacher‑Tutors work during after‑school and evening hours (3:00pm – 7:00pm) and some Saturdays (10:00am – 3:00pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred; continuing through the summer is even better.
• Reliable and available on the agreed schedule.
• Strong background in spoken and written French and English; comfortable teaching up to a Grade 12 level.
• In‑person teaching required; must be able to commute to the location.
• Vulnerable sector screening mandatory.

• Bachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant field.
• Fourth‑year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
• Teaching certification an asset.
• Good knowledge of the current Grades 9‑12 French core curriculum.

• Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level.
• Strong English written and oral communication skills.
• Strong French skills and ability to guide student understanding.
• Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

• Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levels.
• Teaching both online and in‑person.
• Following the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
• Filling in post‑lesson notes.
• Completing daily student communication updates.
• Maintaining a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Part‑time

Salary: $17 – $19 per hour

• Evenings.
• Monday to Friday.
• Saturday availability.
