Role Description The Senior Logistics Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role located in Sherwood Park, AB. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring daily freight movements across Canada and cross-border routes, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Senior Logistics Coordinator will manage dispatch schedules, assign loads to drivers, and optimize routes for various equipment types, including vans, flatbeds, and specialized trailers.
Day-to-day tasks include communicating with drivers and customers, resolving issues related to delays or load changes, and maintaining accurate shipment documentation. The role also involves tracking inventory and equipment usage, collaborating with operations and safety teams, and identifying process improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to interpret logistics data, optimize routes, and support decision‑making.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
- Proven customer service abilities to build relationships and handle inquiries and issues professionally.
- Experience with inventory management, including tracking equipment and freight status.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and transportation logistics, including cross-border operations.
- Prior experience in trucking, freight, or heavy equipment transport is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with dispatch software, transportation management systems, and basic MS Office tools.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, prioritize multiple tasks, and maintain attention to detail.
- Understanding of safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements related to bonded and hazmat loads.
- Relevant post‑secondary education in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
