Junior Supply Chain Specialist

We are recruiting a Junior Supply Chain Specialist to join our team in Sherwood Park, AB. The Junior Supply Chain Specialist will play a key role in optimizing Supply Chain operations using business intelligence to drive efficiency and help achieve sustainable business practices. This role will use a combination of your business intelligence acumen and Supply Chain skills, particularly in contracting and will provide you with a well-rounded knowledge of many areas within Supply Chain Management.

• Support supply chain automation and digital transformation initiatives to improve data accuracy. Knowledge of Sharepoint, Smartsheet and web-based applications is an asset.
• Process Purchase Orders and Change Orders ensuring that the appropriate legal Terms & Conditions are applied.
• Review and negotiate contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Build and manage Supply Chain metrics and reports
• Identify trends and recommend adjustments to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Pursue improvement in all aspects of the supply chain by reviewing current methodology and processes
• Spearhead small SCM projects and initiatives
• Participate in leadership and other training

• Post-Secondary degree/diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related field
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Supply Chain in the construction or oil & gas industry
• Experience in data analysis, inventory management, procurement or logistics
• Proficient in MS Office (i.e. excel)
• Familiarity with Supply Chain Management (SCM) industry practices,
• Strong Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Working knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to corporate purchasing practices and importation of goods and services is an asset
