Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our ICU Charge Nurse at CHI St. Vincent North, you’ll monitor patients who are critically ill and unstable following extensive injury, surgery, or life‑threatening disease. You’ll begin each shift by taking report from a nursing teammate before making your rounds. You’ll provide continued care and perform procedures as detailed in the care plan—assisting a physician with a chest tube or central line, providing wound care, ensuring patients are MRI or CT, or administering medications.
To thrive, you’ll heavily depend on your ability to multitask and react. You’ll clinically care for your patients—remaining focused and attentive as you continuously monitor your patients throughout your shift. You also serve as their advocate—supporting their best interests when they cannot. Your sound judgment during an emergency and rapid response are impressive, placing you on the radar for advancement.
- Ability to serve as a leader and teammate
- Ensure your direct reports and department are positioned to deliver the best care possible to our patients
- High level of engagement with the floor—visibly connecting with nurses, patients, and families
- Attend meetings with leadership to learn about new initiatives, areas for improvement, etc. and share that information with your team
- Monitor productivity and efficiency of your department
- Mentor people on your team—share your knowledge and confidence with assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and others
We are offering a sign‑on bonus up to $25,000 to hires who meet the eligibility requirements. We also offer additional pay for participation in our clinical ladder as well as referral bonuses, excellent benefits, tuition reimbursement and relocation assistance.
Job Requirements- Unencumbered license to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas
- 2 years of acute care experience is required, preferably in an ICU setting
- BLS through the American Heart Association is required
- ACLS through the American Heart Association is required
$36.36 – $47.66 /hour
