Assistant Accountant

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team. This role will support the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate financial records and assisting with month-end processes.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance Manager and wider finance team, helping maintain efficient accounting processes while gaining exposure to a broad range of financial tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with month-end and year-end procedures
• Prepare and post journal entries and accruals
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Support the preparation of management accounts
• Maintain accurate purchase and sales ledger records
• Assist with VAT returns and compliance requirements
• Process invoices and payments where required
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities

Requirements:

• Previous experience as an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant, or similar finance role
• Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

You may be required to work on a Saturday morning to support the weekend opening hours.
