Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a skilled RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring an active IL RN license and experience in med-surg cardiac or telemetry nursing.
Responsibilities- Work in a Magnet-designated acute care hospital on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Direct patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5
- 12-hour day shifts (06:45 to 19:15), three shifts per week
- Every other weekend required
- May be required to float between facilities in Belleville and Shiloh, and within the facility
- Uses EPIC EMR system; EPIC experience may be required
- Total staffed beds: 97
- Must provide direct patient care on a telemetry unit
- First time travelers are accepted for this role
- Navy scrubs required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Up to 7 days of requested time off allowed within a 13-week contract; no time off during orientation week
- Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Travelers may stay for up to 18 months and must take a 3-month break after 18 months
- Active IL RN license required for consideration
- Minimum 1 year of med-surg cardiac or telemetry RN experience
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
- EPIC charting experience required for certain units
- No local candidates; must reside outside a 75-mile radius
