Travel RN - Med​/Surg Tele

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Med/Surg-Telemetry night shift position requiring at least 1 year of med-surg cardiac/telemetry experience and an active IL RN license.

• Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of med-surg cardiac/telemetry experience required
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, nasal cannula, and oxygen administration
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
• Proficient in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration not required)
• Knowledge of heparin protocols and rapid response/code team procedures
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization care
• Comfortable using isolation precautions and PPE

• Direct patient care on a Med-Surg-Telemetry-Oncology unit in an acute care hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours ), three days per week
• Every other weekend required
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• No on-call responsibilities
• May be required to float between Belleville and Shiloh locations and within facility as needed
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Provide direct patient care to cardiac, telemetry, and oncology patients in a Magnet-designated facility
• Navy scrub color required
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing or must be shaved, no exceptions
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days within the 13-week contract, with no RTO allowed during the first week of assignment
• Travelers must take a 3-month break after completing an 18-month tenure at the facility
• Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
