Mechanical Design Engineer

White Label Recruitment is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading engineering and manufacturing business based in Shipley.

Our client is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who can interpret customer specifications and design machinery tailored to their requirements.

This role offers a varied and dynamic work environment where you’ll be involved in designing, creating, and issuing manufacturing drawings for both new and existing equipment.

My client is offering a salary of £39,300 + bonus as well as:

* 37.5-hour work week with flexible start/finish times

* 25 days holiday + bank holidays

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer:

* Interpret customer specifications and design machines and equipment accordingly

* Produce 3D CAD models and assemblies, and 2D technical drawings (using Siemens NX CAD)

* Create BOMs (Bills of Materials) and ensure parts are issued to manufacturing on time and in full

* Provide technical support across departments and to customers, ensuring product quality and compliance with CE and legal regulations

* Support the Sales team in specification reviews to generate accurate quotations

* Assist with the creation and sign-off of technical bulletins, SOPs, and manuals

* Work closely with the Assembly department to ensure machine builds meet design specifications

* Resolve customer complaints and manufacturing-related issues, providing corrective actions

Experience required of the Mechanical Design Engineer

* At least 2 years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role

* Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D drafting

* Experience in creating BOMs

* Experience in machinery design or similar would be advantageous
