Responsibilities
  • Support HR Business Partners with proactive generalist employee relations work.
  • Provide efficient guidance to employees on company policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Create a positive employee relations approach, coaching managers to fulfil people management duties.
  • Deliver operational support on employee relations matters: disciplinary, grievance, appeals.
  • Assist with redundancy consultation processes and TUPE when required.
  • Proactively manage absence, resolve problematic cases and long‑term sickness, analyse KPI trends, and propose preventive measures.
  • Manage an allocated employee‑relations caseload.
  • Support departments through organisational change and embed new structures and processes.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date employment legislation knowledge to provide sound guidance.
  • Collaborate with management to drive performance on key people metrics.
Qualifications
  • Proven track record in a similar ER/HR role.
  • Experience handling ER cases including disciplinary, grievance, appeals, absence management and redundancy.
  • Up‑to‑date knowledge of employment legislation, including GDPR.
  • High discretion and confidentiality.
  • Resilient, flexible, assertive and confident.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Capacity to manage and prioritise a busy, varied workload.
  • Excellent stakeholder, people and change‑management skills.
  • Good analytical and systems skills.
  • Customer‑focused approach.
  • Strong problem‑solving ability in a fast‑paced environment.
