Medical Assistant Float; Long

Sun River Health is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia, and Westchester County. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to support our Shirley location in Long Island, NY.

A Medical Assistant supports patients and the clinical team at designated health centers by assisting with medical care as directed by nursing and medical staff, in accordance with the Center's objectives and policies. This role involves performing duties in compliance with organizational standards and any additional assigned tasks.

• Complete the rooming process, take vital signs, vision, and hearing tests, and record patient data in eCW (including lab results, pain levels, PEAS, PHQ, smoking status, etc.). Document the reason for the visit.
• Perform in-house laboratory tests, collect specimens for external labs (e.g., Pap smears, cultures), and perform quality control in line with organizational protocols.
• Maintain clinical area stock and cleanliness, ensure all materials are current, and dispose of outdated supplies.
• Clean and sterilize equipment, logging each service performed.
• Perform basic clerical tasks, answer phones appropriately, communicate issues to nurses, and handle telephone inquiries.
• Maintain all necessary logs.

• High School diploma or GED with Medical Assistant Training Certificate.
• 0-1 year of related work experience.

• Associate's degree with Medical Assistant Training Certificate.
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $20.50 - $22.00 per hour
