Salary: FTE Salary £32,597 - £35,412, Pro-rata Salary £22,501.96 - £24,445.18 (Salary dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Fixed Term, Term Time only

Working Pattern: Full time 8.15am to 3.15pm Monday to Friday

Location: Glebe Primary School, Southwick

• To be an excellent Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
• To supervise classes with flair, ensuring that children continue to be engaged in their learning.
• To ensure the care and well-being of children.
• To report any Safeguarding concerns in the correct manner.
• To prepare resources for lessons thoroughly.
• To mark books during lessons through ‘live marking’.
• To support children with additional needs, with guidance.
• To work efficiently with all other adults in the team.
• To liaise with class teachers.
• To leave classrooms in good order.
• To understand and adhere to school Health and Safety requirements.
• To cover play time supervision when needed.
• To embrace and develop the vision, ethos and policies of the school.
• To take on other tasks or duties that may be reasonably assigned by the Head teacher.
• To be flexible and ready for necessary changes to schedules.
• To maintain a positive ethos.

• GCSE or equivalent pass grades in maths and English
• Candidates must have at least a HLTA qualification and higher qualifications are acceptable e.g. a relevant degree or teaching qualification

• Proven recent experience in the primary classroom as a TA, HLTA or teacher/student teacher
• To have experience of working in primary school classrooms
• Recent experience of successful whole class cover work or teaching
• Experience of running after school clubs in an area of personal interest

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and a high level of professionalism at all times
• Ability to maintain a positive approach with an accent on high achievement for all
• Good communication skills – oral and written
• Ability to use ICT to enhance learning
• An understanding of Safeguarding procedures and KCSIE

• Ability to form very good relationships with children, colleagues and parents
• Flexible and approachable
• Ability to be reflective and take responsibility for own workload
• To be flexible, resilient and ready to adapt to the emerging needs of the school regarding school cover
• Good role model, constantly reflecting the ethos and vision of our school
• A commitment to excellent attendance and punctuality
