Excellent opportunity for a Civils Estimator working for a major and highly successful civil engineering contractor based in West Sussex

Responsibilities of the Estimator

 * ​Studying tender documentation and information provided.

* Assessing the viability of tenders

* Calculate the net costs of a tender from first principles.

* Ensuring that tenders are complete and submitted on time.

 * ​Identifying Client requirements and developing the best offer to meet them.

* Identifying temporary works and design requirements.

* Site visits and discussions with key subcontractors.

* Working with the selected designer on Design & Build contracts

* Taking off quantities

* Liaison with the client and client designer

* Liaising with Commercial and Procurement Departments

* Evaluating the programme requirements, developing methods of construction and suitable techniques to enable efficient cost-effective resource levels to win bids.

* Handing over successful tenders to Contracts Department upon award

Skills requirements of the Estimator

* Financial management

* Pre-contract management

* IT Microsoft Office skills
-Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point

* Business Collaborator (desirable)

Ideal

Experience of the Estimator

* Minimum of 2 years’ experience of estimating within a civil engineering company

* Minimum of 3 years site experience

* Managing pre-contract programme & progress

* CSCS card

Ideally the Estimator will have HNC in Civil Engineering or NVQ Level 6 in Construction or
