Full Time Interim/Float Director of Nursing / Registered Nurse

We are looking for an experienced Director of Nursing (DNS) / RN to lead a skilled, compassionate nursing department dedicated to exceptional resident care in a skilled nursing and long‑term care setting. The role is located in the Washington State region, full‑time, Monday‑Friday schedule, and requires a strong RN leader committed to quality outcomes, staff development, and regulatory excellence.

• Monitor nursing care to ensure all personnel follow department policies, procedures, and evidence‑based practice.
• Perform administrative duties as Director of Nursing, including employee performance evaluations, maintaining nursing competencies, and completing required reports.
• Assist the Administrator with the nursing budget and provide recommendations while maintaining it.
• Determine staffing needs and work assignments necessary to meet resident care demands.
• Provide leadership training covering administrative and supervisory principles for Resident Care Managers and Charge Nurses.
• Develop and maintain effective job‑specific orientation for nursing services and facilitate in‑service training.
• Participate in state and federal surveys; assist the Administrator in reviewing deficiencies and developing correction plans.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director to assure quality of care.
• Attend continuing education programs to stay current on best practices and regulatory changes; provide leadership for nursing in‑service education.
• Create and uphold an atmosphere of warmth, patience, enthusiasm, and a calm, cheerful environment.

• Must possess a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must hold a current, unencumbered, active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington; BSN preferred.
• Must maintain an active CPR/BLS certification during employment.
• Must be able to take emergency calls after hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
• Minimum three years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing facility; prior Director of Nursing experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices, regulations, and guidelines applicable to nursing care facilities.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records and computer documentation.
