Advanced Controls Engineer

We are looking for an Advanced Controls Engineer to join our Critical Handling Solutions (CHS) business segment. This team specializes in designing and building high‑performance, high‑reliability custom crane and lifting equipment. We serve several diverse industries including aerospace, nuclear test laboratories, commercial nuclear plants, and other sectors that demand the most advanced lifting systems. SuccessCriteria
- Program and debug complex software applications across a variety of platforms; experience with Siemens PLCs a plus.
- Develop software management documentation, including Software Design Descriptions (SDDs), Software Verification and Validation Plans (SVVPs), etc.
- Create custom software under PAR Systems’ software quality program; prior experience with NQA‑1 quality requirements a plus.
- Utilize experience, skills, and software tools to track tasks, project requirements, and maintain version control of code.
- Work closely with Controls Engineers to ensure selected hardware meets project requirements.
- Collaborate as a committed team member during all phases of development, including onsite integration when required.
- Have a strong interest in the design of large, custom machinery.
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent degree.
- 3-8 years of software development experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites to support installation and commissioning of machinery; typically expect travel not to exceed 10%, but up to 25% may be required periodically.

Our starting rate of pay for this salaried position is targeted at $85,000‑105,000 annually.
