Sr Engineering Technician

Position Overview

A Sr Engineering Technician within Operations works on complex high-end test systems requiring independent action. This position contributes to the development of concepts and techniques for designing, testing, and implementing new products and requires a high degree of initiative. The role works cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Marketing, and Purchasing to develop and implement testing methodologies and to troubleshoot and maintain test and calibration equipment.

• Assist in the development of test equipment and processes and implement new designs
• Support the troubleshooting of test benches and equipment in support of Service and Production
• Perform analysis to draw conclusions and present results
• Demonstrate ability to adapt quickly to new designs and concepts
• Evaluate and apply standard techniques and company test procedures
• Construct, evaluate, and troubleshoot prototype equipment
• Perform test equipment verification, validation and reliability testing of design specifications by defining and executing verification procedures and test plans
• Record test results, numerical and graphical data, and make recommendations for changes to product or test methods
• Generate documentation, including drawings, manufacturing procedures, BOMs, and inspection procedures
• Track and communicate project status, help develop schedules and specifications
• Travel to customer or field test sites to support field implementation of test equipment
• Identify and work with vendors on engineering and production components
• Interact with cross-functional groups
• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested

• Electronic Technology certificate
• Experience as an Engineering or Production Technician
• Troubleshooting and repair skills using electronic test equipment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products
• Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
• Occasional travel inside and outside the United States

• Knowledge of computers and networks
• 2-year Electronic Technology AAS degree
• Familiarity with databases like SAP

• Knowledge of electronic test equipment (e.g., Oscilloscope, DVM, and other test equipment)
• Knowledge of electronic components and their usage in electronic circuits
