Job SummaryRepair company equipment in a safe, timely, cost effective and practical manner, including performing preventative maintenance, general repairs, troubleshooting, and electronic diagnostics.
Primary Responsibilities- Build, rebuild and repair all parts of company equipment as required in the department
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or other breakdowns or failures on motor trucks or related equipment
- Read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, digital multimeters, calibrators, and other electronic diagnostic tools
- Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of component parts and systems on trucks, tractors, trailers, or converter dollies (note: may not apply to body and frame specialists)
- When applicable, use welding skills and metal knowledge to complete truck repairs
- Concerning converter dollies, weld horizontally and vertically without air pockets in the bead
- Apply knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations
- Note:

Education
- High School degree or equivalent
Experience
- Experience as a maintenance technician or equivalent education
- Experience with truck repair, body and frame repair
- Must provide own tools
- Ability to complete required paperwork and records
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (when required)
- Working knowledge of most systems on a truck, semi-trailer, or converter dolly
- Proficient at reading precision instruments and electronic diagnostic tools
- Ability to troubleshoot and perform failure analysis on various components and systems
- Knowledge of DOT, EPA, ICC, and OSHA rules and regulations
- Willingness to participate in company training and attend classes when offered
- Willingness to take tests to provide management with information
- Maintain superior customer relations per company policies
- Willing to work on any piece of rolling stock and equipment as directed

- Sitting up to 10% of time
- Standing up to 8–10 hours per shift, 5–7 days per week on various surfaces
- Walking up to 8 hours a day on non-forgiving surfaces
- Bending, stooping, kneeling to reach tight spaces
- Climbing into and out of truck cabins or forklifts
- Moving materials and lifting objects up to 100 lbs
- Reaching into tight spaces
- Hearing and speaking clearly to respond to instructions and safety signals
- Use of hands to operate tools and equipment; dexterity for precise work
- Ability to work varied shifts to complete maintenance
- Reading, writing, and speaking English
- Ability to work in extreme temperatures and noisy environments
- Attendance required
Work environments may include maintenance activities around others, inspections in enclosed vehicles, exposure to all weather conditions, and variable noise and lighting levels. This list is not exhaustive and duties may expand as needed by management.
Working Days and ShiftShift and hours to be determined. Work days and shift are estimates and may change based on scheduling and business needs.
CompensationCompensation range: $33.65 - $37.60 per hour. The salary range is based on the Company's good faith belief at posting and may vary by location, experience, education, and skill level.
