Job Description

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Bag groceries at checkout for customers
• Strive for at least five items per bag, ensuring contents are not damaged
• Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper)
• Assist in removing customer's merchandise from bottom of bascart for checkout
• Offer to help customers load bags into their car
• Perform basic shelf conditioning
• Inform customers of grocery specials
• Return merchandise to store shelves
• Gather and return bascarts to designated areas
• Clean spills, collect trash inside store and parking lot
• Clean all areas inside and outside of store
• Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise
• Understand store layout, locate products, conduct price checks for cashiers
• Reinforce safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, notify management
• Adhere to food safety regulations
• Inspect equipment and report repair needs
• Create a welcoming environment, assist customers with questions
• Follow all laws and company guidelines
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments
• Manage conflicts cooperatively
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business info
• Follow directions and seek help when needed
• Support interactions with minors, individuals with special needs, older adults
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

Minimum Position Qualifications:

• Customer Service skills
• Effective communication skills

Desired Previous Job Experience:

• Retail experience preferred but not necessary
