Position: Administrative Coordinator 1, 2 or 3 (Medical Records)

The Northwest Louisiana Human Services District's mission is to increase public awareness of and to provide access for individuals with behavioral health and developmental disabilities to integrated community-based services while promoting wellness, recovery, and independence through education and the choice of a broad range of programmatic and community resources.

We are seeking an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3 to serve as the main medical records custodian for the Shreveport Behavioral Health Clinic. This position requires in-depth knowledge of LDH policies and procedures for record retention as well as HIPAA regulations and guidelines. Provides a wide range of clerical duties that require independent judgment and knowledge of District and Behavioral Health policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Assists Administrative Supervisor as needed. Serves as backup to the front desk receptionist and scheduling specialist as needed.

Job Duties
  • Serves as the main medical records custodian for the clinic.
  • Provides a wide range of clerical duties that requires independent judgment.
  • Organize and manage clients health information ensuring quality, accuracy, and accessibility the Electronic Health Record.
  • Maintains the active and inactive clinical records, including filing and retrieving client files, lab reports, progress notes ad other relevant documentation.
  • Prepares records subpoenaed for court.
  • Process requests for medical records ensuring HIPAA compliant.
  • Receives requests from and issues supplies to clinic staff.
  • Maintains an inventory of supplies for clinical staff.
  • Serves as back-up for the front desk receptionist and scheduling specialist.
  • Processes routine paperwork and/or enters data into a department log or database in the servicing of a client.
  • Prepares, indexes, and scans documents into imaging system; may ensure quality of scanned images.
  • Prepares requisitions for the purchase of supplies; may involve entering information into an automated system.
  • Receives, stores, and distributes supplies; maintains inventory of such.
Position-Specific Details

Appointment Type: Probational, Promotional

Career Progression: This position participates in a career progression group and will be filled as an Administrative Coordinator 1, 2, or 3.

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday
-Friday.

Location: This position will be with the NW LA Human Services District - Shreveport Behavioral Health Clinic located at 1310 N Hearne Ave, Shreveport, LA

Compensation: The minimum and maximum pay levels for the position is listed below:

  • Administrative Coordinator 1 - $10.50/hour - $18.00/hour
  • Administrative Coordinator 2 - $12.03/hour - $20.61/hour
  • Administrative Coordinator 3 - $13.77/hour - $23.59/hour

The advertised maximum amount listed is the maximum salary a person can make while in this title/level over their career and not the maximum amount we are allowed to pay a new hire.
